Windows Vista's "WOW"

say do you get any money for this? just kidding. i really dont know whats so great about vista but the new design... which is nice by the way, i have to say. however, i guess vista won't work on my (very) old computer, would it? maybe you could write a small list of improvements in your next blog entry, that would be useful. so long, nik.

No I don't get paid for this just use Windows a lot every day and have to delve very deep into it for fixing problems.
From an every day user point of view it offers huge improvements in security, usability and appearance, it’s packed with loads of new features too,

including: - better searching straight of the start menu, much better design of start menu no longer cascades across screen, Photo Gallery including tag system for better organization and also photo editing so you can remove red eye’s. Media player 11 has had a near total revamp to ensure your music collection is a pleasure and not a chore to organize, create your own movies and record to DVD with no 3rd party software. It also helps make light work for home networking.

There’s so many more improvements for gamers, parental controls, performance, it includes Windows media Center, record live TV, I could go on for hours, its well worth a look at.

As to your second point with regards your well used and loved old pc check out my blog in a bit and I will list minimum system requirements and also a link were you can down load a tool from Microsoft that will asses your hardware and inform you how you stand in the way of upgrading.

I played with Vista the other day in a shop, and as a recent convert to mac, it's really nothing revolutionary. OSX has had most of this stuff for ages now...

They may as well have called it Windows OSXP.

I own and run a G3 Apple laptop with OS X and also run linux ubuntu on a Toshiba so I can see your point of view. Looking at both of these Windows Vista at first glance already could be classed as dated.
But digging deeper under the skin from a technical perspective were I spend most of my working life fixing main stream pc’s mainly Windows based, the possibilities to make my working life less stressful doing day to day repairs and training the end users (that have only really used Windows based system is pure heaven.)

Yes I’m sure loads of people as normal will complain about badly written code, bloated software and antitrust e.t.c .As my job involves fixing many of these problems I’m happy to co-existed with Windows many problems as it keeps me employed and pay’s for my toys.
